Turmeric is a member of the ginger family plant that is cultivated throughout tropical Asia, India, and China. The plant grows to a height of 0.9 to 1.5 m and bears large, oblong leaves and funnel-shaped, dull yellow flowers.

It has a thick rhizome, which is yellowish on the outside and deep orange or reddish brown inside. The dried primary bulb and secondary lateral rhizomes are collected, cleaned, boiled, and dried for use in medicinal and food preparations



There is a list of skin care benefits of turmeric like, treatment of acne blemishes, blackheads, dark spots and other skin conditions like eczema.

It also heals and prevents dry skin, slow the skin aging process, and it’s best to reduce wrinkles by keeping skin supple and improve skin’s elasticity.   • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 2 tablespoons gram flour

  • honey

  • for oily skin: 1/4 cup plain yogurt & few drops of lemon juice

  • for dry skin: 2 tbsp coconut oil, sweet almond oil or olive oil (more if you desire)

First Mix the flour and turmeric together , If you have oily skin Add lemon juice and stir, Slowly mix in the yogurt until a creamy paste is formed. Use more or less yogurt to your liking.


If you have dry skin: Add the oil slowly and stir until a paste is formed. Add more for more creaminess.

Apply mask to face and neck.

Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes.


Using a warm, wet washcloth that you don’t mind staining (turmeric will stain), rinse off the mask. Believe me you will see result on your first application. Enjoy your soft and radiant skin.
